Pivotal Consulting Engineers would like to take a different approach to the normal presentation of the Construction Regulations 2014. We would like to make it easier for contractors to comply with this very important part of the OHS Act.
We've been presenting the Construction Regulations 2014 Course since 2015 but still there are many, many contractors of all shapes and sizes who have not attended this essential training.
What most construction companies DO NOT realise is that their contractors MUST comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act in every relevant aspect and most of them DON'T.
Most construction companies think if they have a Health and Safety Agent who goes around and inspects the sites, they are covered. However, a lot of time and money can be saved if the contractor understands Health and Safety and ensures that his site is a safe workplace, fully compliant at all times.
Herein lies the problem. Your contractor does not fully understand the Construction Regulations and only does the minimum. An incident occurs on his site and the site is closed down until the investigation has been completed. This can take anything from 1 to many days, depending on the situation. If you lose ONE day of work on the construction site, you have already lost far more than the cost of the training and have the contractor off-site for a day.
Not to mention the fact that an incident where the site has been closed down usually means a human life has been lost. Something you can never make up for, no matter how many extra hours you put in.
That is the reality.
DO NOT DELAY. Make sure all your contractors, site managers, foremen and site supervisors have attended a high quality Construction Regulations course. It can save a life.
Attendees will receive a certificate of completion.
